That was the comment from one of the judges in the ISPWP winter photo contest, for this image:

Taken from Krista and Steve’s wedding, it is one of my favourite images ever It didn’t place as well as I thought it would…but then humour is so subjective, so I’m happy with how well it did.

From the same wedding, this image place 20th:

Earlier in the summer I went to Alaska to help my good friend Melissa shoot a wedding, and I convinced the security guard to let us out onto the catwalk of the Alyeska tramway pavilion at the top of the mountain:

I’m happy to say that I had four images place in the ISPWP fall contest

ISPWP Contest Results: First Place!

Out of all the photographers that entered this contest, I made it to number 14! Here are the images that placed:

After Wendy and Dom’s ceremony, we were walking around downtown doing the magic time, and we passed this open delivery truck. How could I resist?

Acceptance into the AGWPJA

In addition to being the only photographer in Ottawa who is a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association, I have also been accepted into the Artistic Guild of the WPJA, a sub-organization that recognizes excellence in post-production and the practice of fine art photography.

Acceptance into the WPJA

The Wedding Photojournalist Association is an international organization specifically for those photographers that practice wedding photography in a documentary style. The WPJA restricts its membership to? those wedding photographers that actually practice wedding journalism and documentary style photography, and I’m happy to say that I remain the only photographer in Ottawa to be approved for membership.

ISPWP membership invitation

I’m happy to say that I was recently invited to join, and was accepted as a member of, the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers. This organization has a strict membership review process and requires photographers to meet high standards in the areas of experience and professionalism. Members must also adhere to a rigorous code of conduct which ensures clients can expect to be treated fairly and professionally. I’m honoured to be accepted into the ISPWP!
